DIY Mini Life Vest [6:1 Fashion Doll Scale]

This miniature life vest is a great accessory for a doll’s day on the water: boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and more. It is made from 6 mm foam and wire ties and sized for 6:1 fashion dolls (11.5″ tall).

Supplies:

Craft Foam, 6 mm thick: This forms the main body of the life vest.

Wire Twist Ties: These form the “straps” of the life vest and help hold it together.

Hot Glue Gun: The adhesive for the straps.

Hook and Loop Fasteners: I used Velcro with self-adhesive.

Plastic Adhesion Primer: To help regular paint stick to the foam.

Paint: I used acrylic craft paint.

Foam Brush, 1″: Applied the paint in a nice, even coat.

Towel/Drop Cloth: To catch any drips/spills. This makes cleanup easier.

Gloves: Optional, but can make cleanup easier.

Scissors: To cut the foam and wire.

Pencil: For measurement markings.

Cutting Board:  To measure the wire.

Craft Mat:  Catches any debris for easy clean-up.
