DIY Mini Side Table [6:1 Scale for Fashion Dolls]

I’ve long enjoyed using standard wood craft sticks (4.5″ long) for fashion doll crafting. Only recently did I learn of mini wood craft sticks (2.5″ long) and I had to use them for something. They seemed just the right size to fit into a 6:1 doll world. This side table is what came up.

Supplies:

  • Hot Glue Gun: The adhesive for the shelves and legs (careful with hot tools!)

My Process:

First, I cut the rounded ends off the four regular craft sticks so they were 3.25″ long. Then, I cut the rounded ends off two of the mini craft sticks so they were 2.25″ long. (The bottom shelf is slightly smaller than the top shelf.)

Next, I glued the two 2.25″ craft sticks perpendicular to six of the mini crafts sticks to form the bottom shelf.

Similarly, I then glued two of the mini crafts sticks perpendicular to seven of the mini craft sticks to form the top shelf.

With the shelves complete, it was then time for the legs. I started with the top shelf, gluing two of the legs to the base.

Then, I measured 3/4″ from the bottom of each leg to mark the position of the bottom shelf.

I applied hot glue to the marked locations and attached the bottom shelf.

With two legs remaining, I applied glue to the marked locations and under the base of the top shelf. I attached these two legs, and voila!

I’m excited how this will look as a nightstand or a sofa end table.

Thanks for visiting, and happy crafting!
